Retrieval of Video Objects by Compressed Domain Shape Features

چکیده
In this paper, we propose shape features that are based on MPEG-4 compressed domain shape information. These shape features can be used for efficient retrieval of both MPEG-4 video objects and video object planes. The proposed shape descriptors are invariant of the shape size, translation, and rotation. Because the shape descriptors are computed using the MPEG-4 compressed domain information, extraction of the features require minimal computation time.

Similarity matching of arbitrarily shaped video by still shape features and shape deformations
The increasing availability of object-based video content requires new technologies for automatically extracting and matching of the low level features of arbitrarily shaped video. In this paper, we propose a shape retrieval method for video objects. Our method takes into account not only the still shape features but also the shape deformations that may occur in the lifespan of video objects. W...
متن کاملVideo Abstraction in H.264/AVC Compressed Domain
Video abstraction allows searching, browsing and evaluating videos only by accessing the useful contents. Most of the studies are using pixel domain, which requires the decoding process and needs more time and process consuming than compressed domain video abstraction. In this paper, we present a new video abstraction method in H.264/AVC compressed domain, AVAIF. The method is based on the norm...
متن کاملLocal motion descriptors
Motion features play an important role in video retrieval. In this paper, we propose three new motion features that describe the local motion of arbitrarily shaped video objects. The proposed descriptors are based on the angular and circular area variances of the video object, the variances of the Angular Radial Transform coefficients of the object’s area, and the variances of the Fourier coeff...
متن کاملCompressed Domain Scene Change Detection Based on Transform Units Distribution in High Efficiency Video Coding Standard
Scene change detection plays an important role in a number of video applications, including video indexing, searching, browsing, semantic features extraction, and, in general, pre-processing and post-processing operations. Several scene change detection methods have been proposed in different coding standards. Most of them use fixed thresholds for the similarity metrics to determine if there wa...
متن کاملContent-Based Indexing for Search and Browsing
Storage and archiving of digital video in shared disks and servers in large volumes, browsing of such databases in real-time, and retrieval over switched and packet networks pose many new challenges, one ofwhich is efficient and effective description of content. The simplest method to index content is by means of a thesaurus of keywords, which can be assigned manually or semiautomatically to pr...
